Weekend Update.
Well been working on chaos dwarfs lately. Some prototype army ideas which include a standard CD warrior unit, 1 daemon-smith, 1 mortar, and at least 1 deathshreiker and Bull centaur unit. I have talked frequently with online advisors and found that taking at least 1 magma cannon is critical. So we'll see as the army develops as to how this is developed into the main them. Right now I am going over and over how to do basing to separate myself from the crowd of common lava basing.
My first 1,000 point game saw alot of shooting and some fighting. Fireball was critical to take out chaff and war machines definitely softened up targets. I think right now that bull centaurs can definitely hold up in combat for a long time. This was all discovered in the first win for the CD vs. skaven.
Also looking to trade some ogre stuff off for more dwarf stuff to help me with my projects later on in 2013. I think right now that CD will last me for the rest of 2012.
The future may hold for the army converted magma cannon(s) and the converted ironblaster subbed in as a Iron Daemon but thats at 1600pts and I have not played it yet.

Ogres Update and Practice Games
Well its the Middle of march. I have been up to some things these past 2 weeks and steadily playtesting team tournament games. I finished painting and molding the last part of my cobblestone 40mm bases so that all of my units have matching scenic bases. This brings the army a little further out asthetically and brightens up the bases.
Secondly, I purchased some new space wolfs: wolf packs in their new box of 5 - 1 week ago. My goal with them is to have them for sabretusks. They are big enough and look better than chaos warhounds from 6th edition.
My new side project(because we all have one) is going to be Dwarfs. However, I am trying to go for a marauder style army from late 88'-93'. The biggest challenge I am faced with is acquiring models. I need good trades or sales and all of these figs are OOP. So the challenge will begin. The concept will be a special deployment army(well we'll see how far it goes before I cave and make a min/maxed list :).
I have had a couple games recently. After the CCGS tournament and running 1-2 I played Stevo in Blood and Glory and took a win versus his Empire. I also played another local Brando against an experimental VC list that was very fast and another win there in Dawn Attack. Another game I played was a battleline team game versus Brando and Aarono which was another win for Steve and I(I think this one may have been before CCGS's tourny). And Just last night played Aarono's Lizards and got a lucky win - BR to follow.
So a Lucky streak but we'll see if it pans through.

IronBlaster For the Win!
Pictured left is the ironblaster in WiP stage. Partially painted and I was still deciding on what to put where.
An underside view of the IB as the wiring was being threaded through for the 2-3 LEDs
Painted but not fully. Partially Assembled base in background. Gnoblars must still be added.
Ironblaster base, 2 foam parts, upper and lower, with standard sand and wood glue.
The finished product, it is brighter but lighting doesn't help the highlights. Soon pics of Ironblaster
Pretty much complete. Maybe a few bolts to dot or that gnoblars arms to glue back on but here you go Aconers!

Ogres getting Beat!
So I played a game versus a friend recently. It was 2200 pts getting ready for a local event. The first time in December I beat the guy and still had fun. The second time I got beat and had more fun. He has since learned to get off key spells like the Toughness spell in Lore of Life making Men at arms very effective. I bounced two units of his M@A unit in the most recent game giving him to to swing a lance around and gain an edge on a flank. I took my standard list up to this point - Lvl4 SM, BSB, 12 Bulls +HW and FC, 5 Ironguts, 3 Sabretusks, 10 gnoblars, 6 LB, 2x2 Mounted Cats, and an ironblaster.
Ryan the Bret player took 2x11 knights of the realm, 1x11 grail knights, 2x25 men at arms, and a fighty character for each lance. Then a level 4 and a level 2 to get the complete set of lore of life. We played dawn attack and Ryan had enough turns and high enough movement to out maneuver me.... sigh...
This picture was his grail unit smashing through my bulls on turn 4 causing 10 wounds without any characters swinging. That unit needed to go away turn 1. And the Men At arms went through a 1 unit of Thundercats and 5 ironguts with the boosted toughness spell I counldn't stop...

Tale of Four Gamers Update
Updating Everyone with my list for January. I am now pumping it up to 2,000 points.
Total Roster Cost: 1994
Slaughtermaster
1 Biting Blade
1 Charmed Shield
1 Greedy Fist
Bruiser
1 Enchanted Shield
1 The Other Trickster's Shard
Ogres (12#, 407 pts)
11 Ogres FC +HW, LA
6 Leadbelchers, musician
1 Sabretusks, 21 pts x3
3 Maneaters, bellower, standard, brace of pistols, light armor
1 Banner of Eternal Flame
2 Ogre Mournfang Cavalry, bellower, heavy armor, ironfist
2 Ogre Mournfang Cavalry ironfist, standard, heavy armor
5 Ironguts, 235 pts = 5 * 43 (base cost 43) + Bellower Mus 10 + Standard Bearer Std 10
10 Gnoblar, 35 pts musician
This is a picture of a trial run with the ogres before I broke up the mournfang calvary into 2 units. I then upgraded the Leadbelchers to 6 and dropped a Ironbreaker to make room. The large unit of Bulls houses the characters and varies its own formation to maximize attacks or ranks depending on the situation. My Adepticon list will hopefully see a unit of Gnoblars addeda nd a Large Ironblaster cannon thats a WIP now. Additionally I am putting the final touches on a large BSB with the Ogre from the IronBlaster Kit.

Ogre Update
After many debates and thoughts I actually picked up the IB/SL kit at the december tournament in Springfield, IL. I have ravaged the forums for info, tips and tricks. Waited until the FAQ came out and neutered my poor Ironblaster....sigh. However, I want to take a different approach then my dear and very admired friend / fellow ToFG gamer Ryan. So I have chosen to got he route of Ironblaster. I have even used it in one game, proxied of course, to try and gauge how well it will work.
Found a couple bits to convert it with since I like conversions:
ebayed so I can use different wheels
ebaying also to use wheels and pistons from the STANK. I won't be using the small cannon lol
In my first game versus Bretonnians using the Ironblaster we only did 3 turns, however in those turns I did manage to kill 5 knights and a trebuchet. i will say the reroll ability to ensure maximum distance is a big plus. We will be testing it out before adding it to the January lists. Additionally bits for the Blaster won't be in until christmas so while I have the Kit assembled in pieces I won't be posting anything until its together.

Ogres vs. Empire MSU 2k
Add caption
Initial Setup - Empire MSU versus a typical Ogre army 2k each side. The multiple units that one would face against, me, is problem matic because I can't panic flagellants/greatswordsmen very well and i don't have enough shooting to completely
wipe out a unit.
Turn 2 I move up but don't charge I hold my charge in turn 3 because the countercharge is 2 units of 14 flaggelants. 1 unit on there own later does 7 wounds in 1 combat.
