D&D: Sword of Shannara
An update from RPG Land. A commission piece for family and I wanted to post an update. The following piece is for a Dungeon and Dragons module: Sword of Shannara. The inspiration is from this older module with a picture of a skull castle in a mountain side. All aspects of the mountain were not obviously captured; i.e. the taller mountainsides or the arched entrance, however I had to work with polystyrene I already had and the skull is a light up skull from Halloween decor. The skull was cut in half, the jaw removed then converted into a bridge, glued onto a 18"x24" piece of wood and the skull then magnetized for being removed.
The last image is of the front of the skull removed. I was informed that the inside will be transformed into a multi-level evil fortress in the near future and that the piece was accepted and appreciated.

Team Tournament Practice
The first few turns in our 'Hold the tower' scenario game. Great practice and good list hopefully more practice in the future! The first few turns saw the savage orcs regiment taken down by animosity and left behind by the daemons.
A few images from our team tournment practice game, Chaos Dwarfs and Orcs and Goblins versus Savage Orcs and Daemons. We did end up winning in victory points but we didn't take the tower. The last few turns saw the arock pop, the flesh hounds get taken down by the fanatics being thrown out and the manglers going back and forth... Eventually they got a character into the tower and we had our main units tied up.
Just throwing up some interesting pics of a wolf character, enjoy!

Chaos Dwarf Games!
Well after going 1-2 at RockCon and 3-0 at Merry Mayhem and winning a warmup game for Merry Mayhem. i figured i would throw some pictures out. Still working on the Army for The team Tournament in April at Adepticon in 2013. Here are some pictures and reports from Merry Mayhem.
This game 1 was against a VC player. Playing Dawn Attack and a Black knight bus with 3 characters I was in for an avoidance game. Not knowing what magic items the VC Characters had I pitted my Destroyer against them as a delay tactic and the rest of my right flank charging forward as fast as possible. The tactic worked so did chaff characters against the BK bus. Won by the minimum 100pts and onto round 2.
Game 2 Was against the infamous Kevin Bruins. Ruthless with his sub-obtimal beastmen list and level 1 death mage I felt bad. My first round put wounds on his Mino Character and almost made his largest unit panic off the table. The second round saw that mino character die and the destroyer charge into chaff and eventually around santa's workshop and into his gorgon. This game was tough and Kevin and I skipped to the finish line.
By turn 4-5 I had maneuvered around the building preparing to take charges only to hold and win by almost a landslide....great game wish I didn't take the destroyer at this point....
Game 3 went to Dan Ruud who brought DoC. An all Khorne list basically gave me another free magic pass. I didn't even use the Blood chalice this game and only used it 1-2 turns game 2. I magicked his Blood thirster in 1 round by casting spirit leech, ash storm, and then a DD fire spell at him for 5 wounds total. War machines softened up bloodletters by turn 2 and then blew up turn 3 but the destroyer finished off the bloodletter horde and flesch hounds by turn 5 racing over to help the Chaos Dwarf Warriors(infernal guard) if things got mucky with the other unit.
Had a great time and will bring a softer list next time. I thought by the end of it I may have been affecting other scores by bringing what I did.
Merry Mayhem Army of the Month
Daemons of Chaos!
This army came through at Merry Mayhem December 2nd I know Johnny Hastings won the champion of the brush but I had to throw this one in. I really feel it presents alot of new conversions and great color schemes along with a display board that ties it all in.

Orc and Goblin Rogue Idol Forge World
This was an undertaking and the 2nd largest single model I did. I wanted to make is feasible to use him in a standard orc and goblin army and different from any other idol out there. So if you notice the arms move....yeah they move lol. The base is also inside a 4x6 so he can be removed and stands on a single 50mmx75mm, yup he is going to be my giant. The mushrooms, endless shades of grey, and flock all match my standard orc and goblin units. I know its alot of grey but I sweat I did 4 base coats with black, then mudd, then sephia washes. Then 3 grey shades of highlighting. You can see it in the model but not in the photos, hopefully this guy comes out with my night goblin army next year!

Battle Board 2013
This is one of the last photos of the board which is 90% complete at this point. Lava effects are on the 2nd layer and the hills come off. There are three positions with the hills facing each other, in the middle for king of the hill, and then each building can be put in opposite corners. Two of the views are shared along with the castle corner with lava mote and the central lava pit!

Sword of Shannara
My next Commission project is to make a full size 25mm replica of this D&D image from a text Sword of Shannara. The Sword of Shannara is a 1977 epic fantasy novel by Terry Brooks. The first book of the Original Shannara Trilogy, it was followed by The Elfstones of Shannara and The Wishsong of Shannara. Inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings and historical adventure fiction, Brooks began writing The Sword of Shannara in 1967. It took him seven years to complete, as he was writing the novel while attending law school. After being accepted for publication by Ballantine Books, it was used to launch the company's new subsidiary, Del Rey Books. Upon its release, The Sword of Shannara was a major success and the first fantasy paperback to appear on the New York Times bestseller list. Its success provided a major boost to the commercial expansion of the fantasy genre.

Chaos Dwarf: Standard Bearer
Like the title says its a standard bearer I converted up from a banner, plasticard pole, old bull centaur, some 20mm tight conversion work, and a chaos shield! Then Got some profile pics of him in new horde movement trays and the Hobos in their horde movement tray. The Infernal guard are now 30+ models and Hobos are 40+ and I think I can get the Hobos up to 50. Enjoy!

Chaos Dwarfs: Destroyer
Just a few pictures of a converted destroyer. Converted it from an Ultraforge War Demon and used the arms and hands from the GW BloodThirster. The right hand axe is from an old ugly Ogre model. All of the blue flame is green stuff around joints and fur. The head is a combination of the Zombie Dragon head and the skull bit from a Chaos Hellcannon. The tail piece is the whip from the bloodthirster kit also.
This is another picture of my Bale/Bull Taurus with the newly painted rider. He is a classic piece and I still need to glud the chaos shield on his arm.

RockCon 2013
Here are some good Pics of Paul, Ray, Brandon, and Miel at Rockcon. If you look careful you can see a handful of other players throwing down games in the background. I had a great time up north in Rockford, Illinois and need to get my battle report together! Can't Wait until next year! And just for your information Miel won Best Overall with Empire, Myself with Best Painted and Chaos Dwarfs, and there was a best General Award but I can't remember off hand who got that.
